Requirements of position
|
|
|
|
|
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
- Ensure completion of required training and continuing education to maintain an active, compliant U.S. Customs Broker license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of bonded warehouse operations, FTZ regulations
- Strong understanding with CBP regulations (19 CFR), PGA requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Responsibilities of position
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Prepare, file, and manage customs entries for all modes of transportation (air, ocean, truck), ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs).
- Oversee and support operations involving Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs), including admissions, withdrawals, and recordkeeping in accordance with CBP regulations.
- Supervise and guide customs entry writers. ensuring accurate classification, timely filings, and adherence to compliance procedures within the CBP guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate documentation, shipments, and customs clearance.
- Maintain and improve internal controls related to import compliance, including FTZ processes and entry audits.
- Manage post-entry work, audits and any CBP requests.
- Negotiate rates with trucking companies and provide quotes for customers.
- Stay current on trade regulations, CBP updates, and tariff changes, and communicate relevant updates to internal teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Process CBP daily statements, ensuring accurate and timely payment of duties and fees; coordinate with the accounting department to confirm fund availability and prevent payment delays.
- Manage bond renewals and coordination with the surety company, ensuring continuous coverage and appropriate bond amounts for import operations.
