Job Description:
We are seeking a Weld Engineer to support advanced manufacturing and welding technologies in a production environment. This role will focus on maintaining and improving weld inspection systems, real-time process monitoring, and overall weld quality. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with welding processes, machine vision systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and improve weld inspection and monitoring systems used in production
- Maintain and troubleshoot machine vision systems for weld quality inspection
- Monitor weld processes and analyze data to improve quality and performance
- Develop and maintain weld parameters, procedures, and testing standards
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to weld defects
- Support implementation of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives
- Collaborate with production and automation teams to improve inspection capabilities
- Provide technical welding expertise for new and existing manufacturing programs
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with machine vision and automated weld inspection systems
- Experience maintaining and optimizing production weld monitoring systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Understanding of real-time manufacturing data and process monitoring
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Technical Experience:
- GMAW welding processes and Fronius power supplies
- Resistance welding processes and WTC power supplies
- Robotic welding systems (ABB or Yaskawa preferred)
- Process monitoring setup, calibration, and data tracking
