Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Tarper Assistant to support flatbed trucking operations by assisting with the covering, securing, loading, and unloading of materials. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates who are reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: Overtime as needed
- Must be flexible to work extended hours when required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tarping and securing loads on flatbed trailers.
- Help load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, binders, and other tie-down equipment.
- Inspect tarps and securement equipment for damage and proper use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist drivers and warehouse personnel with material handling duties.
- Perform general labor and warehouse support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, construction, warehouse, material handling, or flatbed operations preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb onto trailers and work at heights when necessary.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
