Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $22-$24/hr (Depending on Experience Level)
First Shift: 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Thursday
Job Description: We are seeking an organized, outgoing, creative, and highly motivated Special Events Coordinator to support event planning, community engagement, volunteer recruitment, sponsorship development, marketing, and day-to-day coordination.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, coordinating details, making phone calls, and bringing events and programs together.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate community, fundraising, and special events from start to finish.
- Manage event timelines, logistics, vendors, venues, supplies, registration, and onsite details.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events and programs.
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations.
- Assist with securing event sponsors and maintaining sponsor relationships.
- Communicate regularly by phone and email with businesses, schools, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
- Support event marketing, social media, invitations, and other communications.
- Manage onsite production and cleanup along with committee for events, as necessary.
- Create event sponsorship packages and lead the solicitation and securing of sponsorships.
- Maintain event and attendee information, registration, and databases.
- Coordinate follow-up with sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and staff after events.
- Assist with other projects as needed in an office environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in customer service, office administration, event coordination, community outreach, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with businesses, schools, volunteers, and community partners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience coordinating events, volunteers, programs, or community activities is a plus.
- Comfortable making phone calls, sending professional emails, and interacting with a variety of people.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with databases and other office systems.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
- Willing to be hands-on and assist with a variety of tasks to support successful events and programs.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.
