| Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping Clerk to join our busy Shipping & Receiving department. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in shipping/receiving operations and proficient in operating all types of forklifts. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and we are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running.
- Package orders, weigh packages, assign labels, and organize shipments for delivery.
- Load and unload delivery trucks, assisting coworkers as needed.
- Verify incoming shipments by cross-checking invoices with deliveries.
- Operate forklifts to move pallets to storage or load onto trucks.
- Transfer jobs from Quality Control to the shipping area for boxing, palletizing, and wrapping.
- Ensure Job Orders are complete and verified by Quality Control before shipping.
- Use packing materials such as shrink wrap, seal foam, bubble wrap, and paper machines.
- Create packing slips, bills of lading, calculate freight charges, and select appropriate carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTLs).
- Communicate with LTL carriers to coordinate timely pickups.
- Prepare orders for upcoming shifts and report completed tasks to the Operations Manager.
