Requirements of position
|
|
|
|
|
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or senior management role.
- knowledge of the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Magaya, CargoWise, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience managing multi-location operations or international finance a plus.
- Freight forwarding or Logistics cost control and pricing analysis
- Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
- Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft word and excel
- Cargo Wise (A Plus)
- Magaya (A Plus)

Responsibilities of position
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Partner with senior leadership to drive financial planning, profitability analysis, and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze operational KPIs such as cost-per-shipment, margin by client/lane, and warehouse/utilization efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support pricing strategies and cost control.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage internal controls, audits, and financial risk management.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Lead annual budget development and regular forecasting cycles.
- Monitor variances and work with operational teams to explain and improve financial results.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and manage working capital to support business growth.
- Work closely with logistics operations to track freight costs, warehouse costs, and profitability by client/service.
- Manage freight accruals, agent disbursements, and billing cycles.
- Oversee multi-currency transactions and international agent settlements.
Optimize finance processes, procedures, and reporting systems for scalability and efficiency.
Leverage ERP tools (e.g., Magaya, CargoWise, NetSuite, SAP) to improve data accuracy and reporting.
