Strong knowledge of raw materials used in dietary supplements (e.g., botanicals, vitamins, minerals, excipients).
Understanding of cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements related to raw material sourcing.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish
Experience with global sourcing and import logistics.
Familiarity with vendor qualification and raw material testing protocols.
Responsibilities of positionJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent with a strong background in the nutraceutical industry, specifically in sourcing and procuring raw materials for dietary supplements, vitamins, and functional products. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely, cost-effective acquisition of high-quality ingredients while maintaining strong supplier relationships and adhering to regulatory and quality standards (FDA, cGMP, NSF, etc.).Key Responsibilities:Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, active ingredients, excipients, and other materials used in nutraceutical manufacturing.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Manage vendor relationships and performance, ensuring consistent supply and on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
Work closely with R&D, QA/QC, and Production teams to ensure raw materials meet technical specifications and regulatory standards.
Track market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, FDA/cGMP guidelines, and documentation requirements.
Assist in audits and supplier qualification processes as needed.
