Job Description:
JobSquad is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for injection molding processes within our client’s manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing production efficiency, supporting new product launches, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and process reliability. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on injection molding experience, a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize injection molding processes using scientific molding principles.
- Support tooling development through mold flow, DFM, mold design, and part design reviews.
- Develop, validate, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related quality concerns using 8D, 5 Why, and PDCA methodologies.
- Support new product launches and first article inspections.
- Train team members on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Create and maintain process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure product and process requirements are met.
- Support daily production needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of injection molding processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of scientific molding, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane certifications.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequently stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise, and occasional heat, dust, or airborne particles.
