Job Description:
Seeking a Medical Design Director to lead and oversee all aspects of a deployable healthcare systems program. This role is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mobile and field-based medical infrastructure, with a focus on medical oxygen delivery systems, modular facility integration, and emergency response healthcare units.
This position is based in Coconut Creek, FL, and requires periodic travel to deployment sites for oversight, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop medical oxygen delivery systems and related infrastructure for deployable healthcare environments
- Lead integration of modular medical units, including facility layout, negative pressure systems, and support infrastructure
- Perform system analysis, calculations, and validation to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and healthcare professionals on system design and deployment
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for installation and maintenance
- Oversee field hospital setup and operational readiness, including troubleshooting medical gas, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and IT systems
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safe field operations
- Support training of medical and technical personnel on system operation and maintenance
- Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and technologies related to deployable healthcare systems
- Assist in sourcing equipment and modifying designs based on client requirements across military, government, and private sectors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Healthcare, or related field
- Experience designing medical gas or oxygen delivery systems in healthcare or deployable environments
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 99, FGI guidelines, OSHA regulations, or similar standards
- Proficiency with CAD software and engineering drawings/schematics
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, electrical diagrams, and construction documents
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with healthcare facility systems such as HVAC, negative pressure environments, and oxygen delivery systems
- Knowledge of FEMA ICS / NIMS and deployable operations is highly preferred
- Military or defense-related experience is a plus
