The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and hands-on mechanical experience to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial sewing machines and other production equipment. The technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving productivity, and maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial sewing machines, automated cutting machines, conveyors, and other manufacturing equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Identify root causes of unexpected machine breakdowns and implement effective repair solutions.
- Maintain and calibrate machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Preventive Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct scheduled inspections and servicing of industrial sewing machines, motors, belts, gears, and other mechanical components.
- Monitor machine performance and implement adjustments to extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Ensure lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of parts are performed as per the manufacturer’s guidelines and internal maintenance schedules.
Facility & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, FAA, and company-specific safety regulations in all maintenance activities.
- Assist in maintaining the facility infrastructure, including lighting, HVAC, compressed air systems, and general building repairs.
- Participate in safety inspections, hazard assessments, and corrective actions to ensure a secure work environment.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts usage, and repairs performed.
- Report recurring issues and recommend process improvements to management.
- Assist in inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
