$19 - $20/hr Schedule: 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm 2nd shift: 2pm-11pm 6-7 days per week to start
Requirements of position
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to support our food production operations. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment used for “ready-to-eat” leafy greens in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. The ideal candidate has prior food production or packaging experience and is comfortable working with machinery, meeting production goals, and ensuring strict food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate scales, baggers, conveyors, and related packaging equipment Ensure all equipment is clean, properly maintained, and functioning efficiently Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting Conduct minor equipment maintenance and escalate complex issues to maintenance team Adjust machinery to accommodate different products and SKUs Monitor and track usage of packaging materials (film, ribbon, etc.) throughout the shift Verify accuracy of coding on bags, boxes, and labels Set up equipment to meet daily production targets Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards Report any food safety or quality concerns immediately Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities Provide daily direction and oversight to 4–6 production team members (ProTech I/II) Support workflow coordination on the production floor Make recommendations regarding performance, but no direct hire/fire authority Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Previous experience in food production, packaging, or warehouse environment preferred Basic math skills and attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required Basic computer skills required Forklift certification preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Capable of safely operating production machinery Work Environment Cold environment (32–40°F) throughout shift Exposure to machinery, wet floors, loud noise, and food-grade chemicals Required to wear PPE including smock, gloves, hair/beard net, and protective sleeves Must follow all company policies related to food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and attendance
