Job Title: Laborer – Shredder Operations

Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits:
Monday – Friday 7AM-4PM or until needed
Job Description:
Maintain a safe and clean work area around the shredder, conveyors, and processing equipment.
Sort and remove non-metallic materials and contaminants from shredded metal.
Assist the shredder operator with startup, shutdown, and routine operational tasks.
Monitor conveyors and processing equipment for jams, blockages, or unusual operating conditions.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Perform routine housekeeping, including sweeping, shoveling, and removing debris.
Assist with loading, unloading, and moving scrap materials as directed.
Inspect work areas and equipment before operation.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.
Use hand tools and other equipment safely.
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility clothing.
Assist maintenance personnel during scheduled repairs and shutdowns.
Perform other duties assigned by the Shredder Manager or Yard Supervisor.
