Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor / Facilities Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our warehouse and office spaces. This role plays a key part in supporting daily operations by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and office areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
- Empty trash, clean windows, mirrors, glass partitions, and service restrooms
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize rooms, laboratory equipment, and high-touch surfaces
- Steam-clean carpets and remove stains using appropriate cleaning solutions
- Apply floor wax, sealants, and buff floors as needed
- Mix and use cleaning agents safely and effectively
- Monitor building safety by securing doors, checking equipment, and identifying hazards
- Move furniture and equipment as required
- Perform basic outdoor maintenance, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, planting flowers, and applying pesticides
- Identify and report maintenance or repair needs to management
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach
- Regular use of hands for handling tools and cleaning equipment
- Ability to lift and move items weighing 10–50 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
Work Environment
- Warehouse and office setting
- Environment is not hot but also not climate-controlled
Qualifications
- No formal education, degree, or certification required
- Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is a plus but not required
