Pay $15.40-$17.05 hr
Hours 6:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities & Job Functions:
• Quality Inspection: Conduct rigorous visual and physical inspections of raw, warm aluminum and zinc castings immediately after production to identify defects such as porosity, cracks, non-fills, or surface blemishes.
• Trimming & Deflashing: Perform basic, hands-on finishing work by using hand tools (files, scrapers, clippers) to remove excess metal (flash), sharp edges, and gates from the parts prior to packing.
• Industrial Packaging: Manually and safely pack heavy metal parts into designated industrial crates, bins, or pallets according to specific customer packaging layer arrangements and counts.
• Sorting & Tagging: Correctly identify, separate, and document defective parts for the scrap/remelt bin while labeling accepted batches with appropriate routing tags for secondary processing.
• Data Logging: Complete accurate daily inspection logs, part counts, and quality shift reports to maintain traceability.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
• Stamina & Strength: Ability to stand for long periods and repeatedly lift, move, and stack metal parts weighing up to 25–30 lbs.
• Industrial Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-temperature, and loud heavy manufacturing foundry environment.
• Strict Safety Compliance: Must consistently wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and heat-resistant gloves or sleeves.
