Requirements of position



One-year certificate from college or technical school and three to five years of related experience and/or training or any equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals.Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication are necessaryAbility to anticipate problems and implement appropriate preventative measuresAbility to develop new techniques for work processesMust be able to give technical direction to others and project leadership over multiple safety teamsAbility to redirect to issues as they emerge and reprioritize based on current business conditionsMust possess excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task Physical Requirements:Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bendingPushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbsRequires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordinationRequires near visual acuityRequires working around and operating departmental equipmentMust be able to access and navigate each department in the facilityRequires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances   
Responsibilities of position




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Observes mechanical devices, equipment and machinery in operation and listens to their sounds to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment, repair or replacementStudies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specificationsDismantles machinery or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfectionsInspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsAdjusts functional parts or devices and control instrumentsRepairs or replaces defective partsInstalls special functional and structural parts in devicesAssembles and test operates machinery and equipment to verify correction of malfunctionCoordinates with manager and assists with production operator’s timely preventative maintenance and predictive parts replacement and repairSets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair partsRepairs electrical equipment or replaces faulty wiring, switches, or relays, as qualified to performCoordinates for outside services when neededInitiates purchase orders for parts, repairs or replacement equipment or piecesMonitors paper recycling operations. Does minor repairs and coordinates outside service with manager for major repairs and operation malfunctions.Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA federal and state rules, regulations, policies and guidelines and company safety rules in the plantPerform other duties as assigned.
