Food Safety Chemist- On Site- Temp to Convert
Our client has a great opportunity for a Food or Forensic Chemist  to fast tract to a Fortune 500 role with a Recognized Leader in a Food Brand.    This role begins as a contract with possible conversion to Full Time status.     This is 40 hours a week, 5 days a week ON -SITE, Napoleon, OH.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. BS degree in Chemistry, Forensic, or related discipline
  2. 5+ years Experience in performing all routine laboratory analysis pertaining to an Analytical Laboratory, and Procedures.
  3. Detail oriented, team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  4. Customer focused decision maker, multitasking with good judgement, competent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  5. Experience Working with complex instrumentation
  6. Supervise the activities of laboratory technicians and junior chemists.
  7. Strong knowledge of all analytical equipment and procedures and the ability to troubleshoot analytical problems is necessary.
 
 
Responsibilities of position





 RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. (30%) Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all analytical equipment including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS.
  2. Troubleshoot analytical methods, both procedural and instrumental. Complying with ISO accreditation.
  3. (20%) Identify and quantify components of interest and unknowns with both accuracy and precision.
  4. (15%) Participate in analytical proficiency programs and investigate any corrective actions. Complying with ISO accreditation.
  5. (15%) Keep current with new and developing technologies. Design and validate additional analytical procedures.
  6. A detail oriented, team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.     Demonstrates excellent work ethics and behaviors with strong sense of ownership and passion for end results.
  7. Knowledge of standard multiresidue methodology, heavy metals testing, allergen testing by Elisa, Acrylamide and Capsaicin. Proficient in GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS.
  8. Ability to proactively identify and address concerns or issues that may affect or improve Food Safety, Product Quality, Key Stakeholder and Customer Expectations.
  9. The Chemist will have project management ability and be able to take on key projects, i.e., LIMS (Labware), PT program, plant lab assessments and A2LA ISO accreditation. Supervisory responsibilities may include scheduling and reviewing daily work of laboratory technicians, keeping and tracking priority of samples and scheduled turnaround times.
