Pay/hours for position





Payrate: $18-33.50 (Based on experience)
 
Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:30pm-12:30am or 3:30pm to 1:30am Monday through Saturday (Sundays as needed)
 
*Must be available to train on 1st Shift
Requirements of position




Skills and Qualifications: 
 
  1. Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or have minimum 5 years in the trade (large mill operation a must).
  2. Minimum of 4 years in large automotive tooling background.
  3. Motivated individual who is team oriented, shows good judgement and problem-solving skills.
  4. The ability to read GD&T, drawings, specs, and work instructions.
  5. The ability to manage multiple tasks.
  6. The ability to communicate effectively with other shifts during shift hand off.
  7. The ability to communicate effectively with other departments throughout the shop.
  8. The ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels
  9. High School Diploma or GED required
  10. Must pass pre-employment screenings
 
 
 
Responsibilities of position





Responsibilities: 
  1. Set up, operate, and monitor mill to machining standards
  2. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining parameters (speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut)
  3. Select, align, and secure work holding fixtures, angle plates, vices, etc.
  4. Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications
  5. Generate tool paths for 2D milling
  6. Accurately complete inspection documentation
  7. Load, edit, and monitor CAM-generated 3D programs
  8. Deburr and qualify finished workpieces
  9. Read and interpret drawings, SMIRT models, and specifications
  10. Proficiently perform horizontal machine setups
  11. Select, measure, and program machine tooling
  12. Controls: Heidenhain / Fanuc / Fidia / Mitsubishi / Okuma / SMIRT
  13. Measuring Tools: Calipers, Depth Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Inside & Outside Micrometers, Test & Travel Indicators
  14. Machines: 3-Axis and 5-Axis Vertical / Horizontal Mills
  15. Equipment: Overhead Crane, Fork Truck
  16. Knowledge and understanding of basic hand tools
 
Overview:
 
The CNC Machinist’s main responsibility is to set up and operate vertical/horizontal 3 or 5 axis milling equipment. The CNC Machinist will strive toward completing the tasks with quality craftsmanship on time and within budgeted hours. 
 
It is imperative that the CNC Machinist maintains a professional relationship with coworkers, suppliers, and customers and conducts themselves with the highest moral character when representing the company.
