Die Cast Press is growing! We are looking for a responsible, innovative CNC/Lathe Machinist who understands machining, shop math, and has a strong passion for CNC work. This role requires someone energetic, focused, and able to perform well under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. What You’ll Do: - Program mills and lathes (including zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches)
- Perform calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Prove part programs
- Set up mills and lathes, including three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
- Indicate vises and tram heads
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, orthographic drawings, and geometric dimensions & tolerances (GD&T)
- Plan machining processes and understand materials and specifications
- Monitor and manage stock inventory, place orders, and verify stock received
- Perform drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing
- Take measurements and maintain part specifications
- Troubleshoot machining processes and adjust/reprogram controls as needed
- Sharpen and replace worn tools
- Follow quality assurance procedures
- Perform preventative maintenance and follow manufacturer guidelines
- Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary
- Handle deburring from start to finish
- Maintain quality control of parts from start to finish
