| Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembler II to join our production team. This role is responsible for building standard and custom cable assemblies by assembling parts and subassemblies with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in cable assembly processes and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble cable products by cutting, stripping, tinning, crimping, soldering, encapsulating, and fastening components
- Interpret assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, drawings, and parts lists
- Prepare work by gathering materials, tools, and subassemblies
- Position and secure cables and components using fixtures when required
- Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform injection molding of cable assemblies
- Produce labels and package completed orders
- Modify parts using hand and electrical tools
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and communicate with the Production Manager for resolution
- Maintain equipment by following operating instructions and reporting malfunctions
- Document production activities and quality results accurately
- Assist in training and guiding team members as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor when supplies are low
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of cable assembly experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Proficiency with basic hand and electrical tools
- Excellent soldering skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical activity, including sitting for extended periods (6+ hours per day)
- Ability to lift and handle objects up to 25 pounds
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment, including dust, noise, fumes, and temperature variations
- Minimal exposure to physical risks such as operating equipment or handling materials
