Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of experience in a sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning role within a food, beverage, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation, and cleaning procedures in a production environment.
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and documentation requirements.
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, safety data sheets (SDS), and PPE use.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Work Environment
- Food and nutraceutical production facility operating under GMP and FDA standards.
- Exposure to powders, food ingredients, and machine noise.
- PPE required: hairnet, gloves, lab coat, mask, and safety shoes.
- Must follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times.

Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor / Production Manager
Shift: Full-Time (1st or 2nd Shift, with possible weekends)
Position Summary
The Batch Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, utensils, containers, and work areas used in food and nutritional supplement manufacturing. This position ensures all equipment is properly cleaned between batches and meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety requirements to prevent cross-contamination and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize mixers, blenders, tanks, containers, utensils, and tools after each production batch according to approved SOPs.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and inspection.
- Ensure cleaning agents, sanitizers, and detergents are used correctly and safely following company guidelines.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary production and washroom areas at all times.
- Follow GMPs, FDA, HACCP, and internal food safety standards.
- Complete cleaning checklists, logs, and sanitation documentation accurately.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow all PPE and safety requirements.
- Assist production teams by preparing clean equipment and tools for the next production run.
- Dispose of waste and expired materials according to company and environmental standards.
- Report any maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in ongoing sanitation and safety training.
