We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for helping manage financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting financial planning processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.The Assistant Controller works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, improve processes, and maintain accurate financial records that support operational decision-making. This is a Direct Hire role offering a starting salary between $120-140k and a generous benefits package. Key Responsibilities - Assist in maintaining accurate, complete, and timely accounting records.
- Support the development and maintenance of financial control systems and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate financial processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and management information.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
- Assist with the management of cash flow, including accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and disbursements.
- Help maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Participate in financial audits and support favorable audit outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen financial processes and operational decision-making.
- Participate in regular meetings with finance, IT, and operations teams to review financial performance and systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and regulatory standards as applicable.
- Assist with administrative duties, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to team development, communication, and collaboration within the department.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation (such as CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing is considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
