Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Air & Ocean Import/Export Coordinator to join our logistics team in Doral, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience handling international freight forwarding operations, including air and ocean imports and exports, with a strong focus on shipments to Latin America.
This individual will be responsible for coordinating shipments from origin to destination, preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, communicating with international agents and customers, and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage Air and Ocean Import and Export shipments from origin through final destination.
Handle international shipments primarily throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation, including:Air Waybills (AWB)
Bills of Lading (BOL)
Commercial Invoices
Packing Lists
Export documentation
Customs and freight forwarding paperwork
Communicate with customers, airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, trucking companies, and vendors.
Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and provide status updates to customers.
Coordinate bookings and shipment schedules with carriers and international partners.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable import/export regulations.
Maintain accurate shipment files, records, and documentation.
Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and customer service issues professionally and efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients and international agents.
Utilize Descartes software to manage shipments, documentation, tracking, and logistics operations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Air and Ocean Import/Export or International Freight Forwarding.
Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures and documentation.
Experience handling shipments to Latin America is required.
Proficiency with Descartes Software is required.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Knowledge of Air Freight and Ocean Freight operations.
Strong understanding of import/export documentation and logistics processes.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with computers and logistics software systems.
