SUMMARY
The Process Engineer will be the subject matter expert (SME) in our injection molding
processes. The Process Engineer will lead the team on continually improving the manufacturing
processes. A strong manufacturing background with proven experience in the principles of lean
manufacturing is essential. This position reports to the CFO/COO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist exterior tool shops to deliver quality tools by participating in design and development of
tooling ie (mold flow review, DFM review, mold design review, part design review).
Ensure systemic and product quality expectations are met.
Deliver training and instruction to associates and team members for all new processes and
equipment during product development and launch.
Work with the project team on new projects to ensure quality products and processes are
developed based on the project timeline.
Assist in resolving process related quality concerns using problem solving techniques (8D, 5
why, PDCA). Work with suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
Understand the effects of process variables in injection molding and scientific molding
principles. Ability to process/sample a wide variety of materials.
Design, develop and improve new and existing processes. To deliver new processes in line with
project objectives and current Health & Safety Regulations.
Support introduction of new products/services into the business.
Identify opportunities to upgrade plastics processing and tooling performance in support of
improved product cost, process reliability and on time delivery to customers.
Create or update Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
Support first article inspection process and provide input to ongoing process parameters to
ensure that molding performance meets design specifications.
Work with the indirect support staff to maintain the day-to-day production requirements. At
times, provide directions to QC Auditors, members of the Material's group, and Maintenance
Technicians.
Ensure quality product by establishing and enforcing company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Molding progressive training.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree
(GED). Minimum of 5 years of Injection Molding processing experience. Knowledge of 8D,
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read prints and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Above
average computer skills required including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to
communicate effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral
or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain a forklift and overhead crane license.
Must be willing to obtain certifications as the job warrants.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and
arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop,
kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving
mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme
heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
Lead and optimize injection molding processes using scientific molding principles.
Support tooling development through mold flow, DFM, mold design, and part design reviews.
Develop, validate, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Troubleshoot and resolve process-related quality concerns using 8D, 5 Why, and PDCA methodologies.
Support new product launches and first article inspections.
Train team members on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Create and maintain process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.
Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure product and process requirements are met.
Support daily production needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of injection molding processing experience.
Strong knowledge of scientific molding, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Valid Driver's License required.
Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane certifications.
Physical & Work Environment
Frequently stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise, and occasional heat, dust, or airborne particles.
