Job Summary:
 
The Sanitation Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the food production facility, including equipment, machinery, and work areas. This role is critical in ensuring the facility meets regulatory safety and quality standards (FDA, USDA, GMP, SQF, etc.).
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  1. Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, walls, and other facility areas using proper chemicals and procedures.
  2. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning according to safety and sanitation protocols.
  3. Operate sanitation equipment such as pressure washers, foamers, and floor scrubbers.
  4. Handle and mix cleaning chemicals in a safe and proper manner, following SDS guidelines.
  5. Follow daily sanitation schedules and complete required documentation/checklists.
  6. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Assist in other utility or housekeeping duties as needed.
  9. Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
 
Qualifications:
 
Previous experience in sanitation or janitorial work, preferably in a food production environment.
 
  1. Ability to work in cold, wet, and hot environments, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  2. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.
  3. Basic reading and writing skills for completing sanitation logs and safety reports.
  4. Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
 
 
Preferred:
 
  1. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or SQF standards.
  2. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
