The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for experienced Laboratory Technicians in the Kalamazoo, MI area! This position will perform quality control tests on raw material, in-process intermediate & finished products to meet quality specifications.

Job duties may include, but not be limited to:
- Sets up experiments & tests following detailed instruction & procedures
- Maintains detailed documentation & data as a result of tests
- Serves as safeguard against any customer receiving material that doesn’t meet specifications
- Contributes to the continuation of all the company’s certifications
- Inspect & release bulk materials of offloading into storage or reactor
- Participates in site safety, quality & operations improvement initiatives
- Prepare, complete, update & maintain all reports, records, & documentation as assigned & as necessary
- Monitors environmental alarms & communicates info to operations personnel
- Adhere to all environmental practices, rules, standards & procedures requirements
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with departmental procedures & regulatory requirements
- Assists in updating operating procedures & batch sheets for various plant trials
- Assists in the development of various analytical methods for the lab
- Operates & maintains lab equipment & supplies
- Assists in instrument troubleshooting
- Generate Certificates of analysis
- Maintain supply inventory
- Maintain & store room; dispose of old expired samples
- Acceptance of Raw materials, COA
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work area
- Performs other duties as needed
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in chemistry
- At least 2 years’ experience in QC Lab environment
- Proficiency in computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, SAP, LIMS, etc.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, technical)
- Ability to organize & prioritize numerous tasks & develop plans to execute to satisfy daily operational needs while maintaining focus on longer-term strategic needs
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, but willing to take a hands-on approach
- Strong interpersonal skills & must be able to establish relationships across all levels of the organization, both internal & external to the site
- Good numerical reasoning & process problem solving skills
- Computer literacy
- Fundamental understanding of chemical instrumentation.
