Sit-Down Forklift Operator – Cold Storage
Location: Medley, FL

Schedule: 8am – 3pm. Candidates must be willing to work any day of the week (including Saturday and Sunday) but will be working 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Pay Rate: $18/hr
Benefits: 401K with Matches, Health Insurance (70% paid by employer), 15 vacation days and 5 sick days.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our cold storage team. This role involves operating powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and move materials within a refrigerated and freezer environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in cold temperatures and maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move products, pallets, and materials throughout cold storage areas.
• Load and unload trucks, stack and store products in the correct warehouse areas.
• Maintain accuracy in picking, staging, and replenishing inventory.
• Inspect forklift equipment before and after use; report any issues or needed maintenance.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines.
• Work efficiently in cold (32°F/0°C) and freezer (-10°F/-23°C or lower) environments for extended periods.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Support general warehouse duties as needed (manual pallet movement, labeling, scanning, etc.).
Qualifications:
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Valid forklift certification and at least 2 years of sit-down forklift experience.
• Preferred: Experience working in a cold storage or temperature-controlled warehouse.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in cold and freezing conditions with proper PPE.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety compliance.
• Basic computer and RF scanner skills a plus.
Working Conditions:
• Work performed in cold storage (32°F) and freezer environments (-10°F or colder).
• PPE (e.g., freezer suits, gloves, face coverings) provided by the company.
• Noise levels may be moderate to high due to equipment.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and forklift driving required for most of the shift.
