The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a 2025 Road Construction Flagger to work at a company located in the Jackson, MI area!

 2025 Road Construction Flagger 
Position Location

 Join JobSquad as a Road Construction Flagger and help keep Michigan’s roads safe while staying active and exploring the state.
This seasonal, travel-based role (April–mid-November/December) is ideal for dependable, hard-working individuals who don’t want to be stuck indoors all summer.
  1. Typical shifts: 4–14 hours, weather dependent
  2. Personal vehicle required for travel to job sites.
  3. Various locations across Michigan (Statewide travel required)
 
 
Pay/hours for position




Hourly pay based on travel distance ONE WAY from your home office:
  1. 0–50 miles: $19.00/hr.
  2. 51–80 miles: $20.00/hr.
  3. 81–99 miles: $21.00/hr.
  4. 100+ miles: $26.00/hr.
* Mileage is calculated using the shortest GPS route from your home office to the job site.
*Home offices Include: Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Jackson, and Mount Pleasant
 
Requirements of position



 What You Need
  1. Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
  2. Reliable personal vehicle (must stay on-site during shift)
  3. Proof of Michigan auto insurance with your name listed.
  4. Full-day availability (sunrise to sunset), including weekends.
  5. Ability to work on your feet in all weather conditions.
  6. No OWI/DUI in the past 5 years.
  7. Willing to travel up to 100+ miles one way from home office.
 No diploma or previous experience needed – we’ll train you and provide the safety equipment!
Attire: Provided by JobSquad
  1. MDOT Class 3 Safety Vest
  2. Clear & Tinted Safety Glasses
  3. Hard Hat
  4. Headlamp
  5. 2-Way Radio (you provide daily batteries)
  6. Poncho
Other Required Attire:
  1. T-shirt or long-sleeve shirt (no tank tops)
  2. Steel-toed leather boots (must cover ankle)
  3. Durable jeans or work pants (no shorts or sweats)
 
 
Responsibilities of position




 As a Flagger, you’re a key part of the road crew’s safety team:
  1. Control traffic at construction zones.
  2. Direct drivers safely around work sites
  3. Use signs, paddles, radios, and hand signals.
  4. Communicate with other flaggers and supervisors to ensure a safe flow of traffic.
Breaks & Rest Periods
Due to the nature of roadwork, scheduled breaks may not always be possible. However, accommodations are made, and flaggers are encouraged to take appropriate rest periods as workload and site conditions permit, in coordination with the site lead.
