Requirements of position

Required Skills:
• Ability to read advanced blueprints to create specialized tools and gauges.
• Have an attention to Detail.
• Strong mechanical Skills and the ability to use a number of hand tools and large scale machines to finish their products.
• Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Using mathematics to solve problems.
• Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• The ability to listen to and communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Experience and Education:
• 2 year technical college or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 yrs. Tool making experience.
• Understanding of gauging, and dimensional layout.

Responsibilities of position
|
|||||
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to design and construct simple hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
• Adjusting tool parts by cutting and grinding materials to make them fit together
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Complete a daily time card to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity.
• Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
• Fits and assembles parts and verifies dimensions and alignment using measuring equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair tooling, and gauges.
• Layout gauges and fixtures to verify design and prove capability.
• Read blueprints, design, maintain, and build gauges, tools, other equipment.
• Set up and operate machine tools(drill, lathes, grinders and milling machines) to machine parts to specifications and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Sharing updates with other designers or product managers to track progress and verify requirements
• Testing tools after inspection to ensure they function correctly
