Job SummaryStaff Accountant will handle complex financial tasks including mid-level general ledger reconciliations and month-end closing procedures. You will report directly to the Accounting team and Controller to collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and audit preparedness. Essential Functions - General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries, perform ledger, cash account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Support the full-cycle closing process, including accruals, adjustments, and variance analysis.
- Operations Support: Monitor accounts payable/receivable specifically for high-volume financial transactions and reconcile inventory records.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for management review.
- Compliance & Audit: Prepare documentation for external auditors and ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations, including sales tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures, efficiency and automations within tasks and workflows
Other Functions - Performs other ad hoc reporting as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
- Assists with related special projects as required.
Other desired skills and abilities - Knowledge of accrual based accounting, order to cash process, procure to pay, inventory accounting
- Proficient with Excel and Word. Ability to create spreadsheets and advanced formula experience.
- Computer and business software literate.
- Experience with ERP systems and processing (Oracle NetSuite a must)
- Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and strong detail-orientation.
