Pay/hours for the position




This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $15/hr, working Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with potential overtime opportunities.
Requirements of position



 
The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to stitch, assemble, and reinforce fabric and webbing materials used in aviation seat belts and restraint systems. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to production standards to ensure all products meet safety and quality regulations. The operator must follow work orders, inspect finished goods, and collaborate with the production team to maintain efficiency and quality control.
 
 
Responsibilities of position




  Responsibilities:
Sewing & Assembly:
  • Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch, join, and reinforce seat belt and restraint materials, ensuring durability and compliance with aviation industry standards.
  • Position, align, and secure fabric, webbing, and other materials under machine needles to achieve accurate stitching and assembly.
  • Follow work order instructions, patterns, and specifications to produce high-quality finished products.
  • Adjust machine settings such as tension, stitch length, and speed for different materials and production requirements.
Quality Control & Inspection:
  • Inspect materials before and after sewing to ensure proper alignment, stitching accuracy, and conformance to work order specifications.
  • Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or malfunctions in materials or machinery to supervisors.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as replacing needles, threading machines, and cleaning workstations to maintain optimal machine performance.
Compliance & Safety:
  • Adhere to company and industry regulations for product safety and quality control, including FAA and other aviation manufacturing guidelines.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures, including proper handling of equipment, ergonomic best practices, and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Participate in training sessions on machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Efficiency & Productivity:
  • Work efficiently to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to streamline workflow and resolve production challenges.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and ensure tools and materials are properly stored.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Sewing Experience: Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines in a manufacturing setting is preferred, particularly in textiles, upholstery, or safety equipment production.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to adjust machine settings and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure continuous operation.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow patterns, align materials correctly, and inspect finished products for accuracy.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to sit for long periods, use foot pedals and hand controls, and handle repetitive tasks.
