Responsibilities of position
We are seeking two experienced Set-Up Mechanics to support high-volume cosmetic manufacturing operations across multiple production lines. Candidates must come directly from a cosmetic manufacturing company or have verifiable cosmetic production experience—nutraceutical or pharmaceutical backgrounds are not a substitute due to differences in machinery, filling processes, and line configuration. The Set-Up Mechanic will be responsible for installing, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining production and packaging equipment across various lines. The ideal candidate is adaptable, bilingual (English/Spanish), and capable of transitioning quickly between multiple types of cosmetic production equipment. --- Key Responsibilities · Install, maintain, and repair cosmetic production and packaging machinery, including fillers, cappers, labelers, mixers, and conveyors. · Perform routine and preventive maintenance to maximize equipment efficiency and downtime prevention. · Diagnose mechanical issues and implement fast, effective solutions to prevent production delays. · Perform equipment setups for changeovers and adjust machine settings as needed. · Troubleshoot minor electrical and pneumatic issues related to line operation. · Read and interpret mechanical diagrams, manuals, SOPs, and technical drawings. · Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure GMP and FDA compliance. · Complete required documentation, maintenance logs, and equipment records accurately. · Follow all safety procedures and participate in ongoing safety training programs. · Support multiple production lines and move between departments as needed. --- Requirements · 3–5 years of Set-Up Mechanic or Maintenance Mechanic experience specifically in the cosmetic manufacturing industry. (Experience exclusively in nutra or pharma does not qualify.) · Bilingual: English and Spanish required. · Strong knowledge of cosmetic machinery setups, filling lines, and packaging operations. · Hands-on experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
· Ability to work independently within fast-paced production environments. · Able to transition between different production lines onsite as needed. · Flexible to work OT or schedule variations when required.
