Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits:
$21-$24 with $2 shift differential for working nights.
Day shift-5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday and Night shift-4:30pm-1am, Monday-Thursday.
Job Description:
The Sandblaster Operator is responsible for setting up and operating abrasive blasting equipment to clean, deburr, strip, and prepare metal, plastic, or structural components before painting, powder coating, or plating. This role ensures surfaces are free of rust, scale, and contaminants while achieving the specified anchor profile and quality standards.
Vocational or trade school training is a plus but not required
1–2 years of industrial sandblasting or surface preparation experience in a manufacturing, automotive, structural steel, or shop environment
Understanding of surface preparation standards (e.g., SSPC-SP1, SP6, SP10) and abrasive media selection. Proficiency with hand tools, compressed air equipment, and surface measurement tools (e.g., surface profile gauges).
Familiarity with blueprints, work orders, and shop travelers.
Ability to stand, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive heavy physical labor for 8–10 hour shifts.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavy components.
Ability to wear heavy protective gear, including air-supplied blast hoods/respirators, for extended periods.
Work environment involves exposure to high noise levels, airborne dust, variable temperatures, and abrasive materials.
