Required Qualifications
- Experience working within ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems
- Working knowledge of core quality tools (FAI, First Piece Inspection, PPAP, Quality Manuals)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reporting, charts)
- Proven experience driving corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Hands-on, results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field
- Prior experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Leadership role

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Leader to support a fast-paced metal fabrication manufacturing environment. This is a customer-facing role responsible for quality inspections, reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives within an AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable communicating directly with customers while driving internal quality standards and improvements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform WIP, inbound, and outbound inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Prepare and complete First Article / First Piece Inspection Reports (FAI)
- Generate detailed quality reports documenting inspection results, corrective actions, preventive actions, and trend analysis
- Communicate quality status, issues, and resolutions directly with customers and internal stakeholders
- Utilize Excel, charts, graphs, photos, and technical narratives to present quality data to management
- Establish, track, and report Quality KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead corrective action and root cause analysis efforts (5 Why, 8D, RCA)
- Measure and analyze Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and nonconformances
- Support audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards
- Adapt to changing production priorities and support urgent quality issues as needed
