Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management roles.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and SKU creation.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with manufacturers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
· Exceptional sales and negotiation skills.
Other desired Skills, Abilities
· Familiarity with pharmaceutical procurement and bidding processes is a plus.
· Experience with management of financial resources
· Knowledge of system analysis, how workflow changes and related outcomes
Job Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that a business can acquire needed supplies, materials, and other relevant items. This includes identifying purchasing needs as well as identifying vendors for goods and services. Maintaining positive business relationships with vendors is necessary for achieving the right price for the right product. Your primary goal will be to ensure efficient and effective purchasing operations, maintain accurate inventory records, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Essential Functions
· Create and maintain SKUs, ensuring accurate and complete product information.
· Edit existing SKUs as needed, including updates to pricing, descriptions, and other relevant details.
· Communicate with manufacturers and vendors to request and obtain SD (Short -date) lists, evaluate items using the Velocity report, and recommend items for general stock or special orders.
· Process SD purchase orders for all manufacturers currently managed by the company.
· Assist in processing purchase orders for pharmaceutical bids and manage special orders related to the pharmaceutical bid process.
· Handle SSA (Shelf Stock Adjustments) claims for items with significantly deviating costs.
· Collaborate with the VP of Purchasing to manage manufacturer catalogs received after ECRM meetings, evaluate potential items for contract inclusion, and capitalize on business opportunities.
· Provide support to all members of the purchasing team during peak workloads or when assistance is required.
· Upload and prepare the new items tab for the purchasing meetings, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
· Sign and file OTB agreements.
· Manage purchasing e-mail inbox; source requests, tracking information, reorder requests.
· Develops and manages relationship with suppliers to hold them accountable for meeting shipping and delivery commitments to include system and process improvements at both company and the supplier.
· Formulate and execute purchasing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
· Support VP of Purchasing in managing EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) with manufacturers, ensuring smooth data exchange and timely order processing.
· Maintain comprehensive tracking of purchase orders and items that are 60+ days old, taking appropriate actions to resolve any delays or issues.
· Supports group and/or organization key initiatives and objectives through contributions on project teams to include support of supplier management activities
