Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead manufacturing and equipment integration projects within a fast-paced production environment. This direct hire opportunity will oversee projects from planning through implementation, supporting operational efficiency, production improvements, and smart manufacturing initiatives aligned with Industry 4.0.
Responsibilities:
- Lead manufacturing and integration projects from concept through completion
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality, IT, and external suppliers
- Support equipment installations, production launches, and process improvement initiatives
- Drive Industry 4.0 efforts including automation, connected equipment, and manufacturing data systems
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain schedules and budgets
- Communicate project updates and milestones to leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives
- Coordinate with vendors and support equipment procurement and system integration activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments
- Experience managing equipment integration, production launches, or plant-level projects
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and plant operations
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts including automation, digital manufacturing, or smart factory systems
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing project timelines, budgets, and scope
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier experience
- Experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, or assembly systems
- Familiarity with MES, SCADA, or manufacturing data platforms
- PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and automotive quality standards
- Experience with MS Project, Excel, or Smartsheet
