| A Plant and machinery maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring that equipment continues to operate at acceptable levels. First and foremost, a machinery maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing regular maintenance and inspections of equipment; this may involve visual inspections, as well as tasks such as operating a robot to perform a diagnostic test. Aside from general inspection and maintenance, this mechanic responds to requests when a machine breaks down or otherwise malfunctions. Maximizing uptime is critical & being responsive in a timely manner is critical. Responsibilities:· Inspect equipment. Make necessary adjustments, document test readings and repairs.· Managing routine and preventative maintenance based on production requirements to minimize production disruptions, equipment failure, downtime, and corrects any unsafe conditions.· Repair or replace essential equipment - both electrical and mechanical.· Read and understand prints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to determine methods and sequence for repairing machinery and equipment.· Perform inspection and preventative maintenance on production equipment utilizing PM programs and inspection checklists. Maintain preventative maintenance logs and equipment manuals.· Align, fit, repair and assemble electrical/mechanical component parts using meters, gauges, power tools, hand tools, lifting devices and drawings.· Respond to Facility Service Requests.· Ensure proper working condition of equipment in Machine Shop & Plant, including CNC Machines, Welding Equipment, Air Lines & Hoses.· Review project instructions and equipment specifications to identify and plan necessary repairs.· Fabricate and/or modify new or used parts to make repairs according to established safety procedures.· Investigate equipment failures and malfunctions. Communicate production team members, or technical experts to resolve intermittent malfunction or failure of equipment or systems.· Complete tasks as required to minimize production equipment downtime.· Ensure proper installation of new equipment. Document all testing of equipment and electronic systems.· Strick adherence to lock out/tag out procedures.· Machinery Maintenance Mechanic Tasks· Repair, install, adjust or maintain machinery.· Perform preventative maintenance inspections.· Maintain work and shop area and stock tools, parts and supplies.· Complete written record of work performed.· Other duties as assigned |
