| 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferredProven experience setting up and programming HAAS CNC machinesStrong understanding of G-code and conversational programmingAbility to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings and GD&TProficient with common shop equipment (manual mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.)Strong knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, and machining principlesExperience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and tool steelsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality | |||||
| Responsibilities of position | |||||
| Set up, program, and operate HAAS CNC mills and/or lathes (including editing G-code at the control when required)Develop and optimize CNC programs for efficient, accurate machiningManufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, prototypes, and support components for internal production useInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructionsSelect appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work holding methodsPerform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checksUse precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and indicatorsMaintain tight tolerances and high surface finish standardsTroubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments as neededMaintain organized work areas and ensure proper machine maintenanceCollaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool design and manufacturabilityAssist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce setup time and improve tooling performance |
