| Requirements of position
|
|
| • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High School Diploma (or equivalent) with basic math skills and good penmanship. Previous experience in a packing house or other food processing work environment is preferred.
• COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL – Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors and managers in multiple departments. Being bilingual is a plus but not required.
• COMPUTER SKILLS – Must have basic computer skills
• CERTIFICATIONS and/or LICENSES REQUIRED – Forklift Certification
• MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED – Smock, Gloves, Hair/Beard Net, Protective Sleeves, Boxes and Pallet Jack.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, squat, pull, push and lift and carry 50lbs constantly.
• Must have sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to safely operate equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
• Must be able to work in a constant cold environment of 32 to 40 degrees.

| Responsibilities of position
|
|
| • This position is responsible for operating scales, baggers and associated belts and conveyors used in the packaging of “ready to eat” leafy greens for food service and retail packs.
• Additionally, this person will ensure the equipment is kept and maintained in a clean, working order.
• Must also be able to perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must be able to perform minor maintenance on the equipment and must immediately alert maintenance to any issues requiring more advanced knowledge.
• Must understand how to adjust equipment to perform adequately with different commodities and different SKUs.
• This position will also be responsible for an accounting of all film, bagger ribbon and other supplies used during the shift.
• This position is also responsible for ensuring all coding on bags, boxes and labels is correct.
• Must follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements and report any food safety concerns immediately.
• The packaging operator must assure the equipment is properly set up to achieve daily production goals.
• Be willing to assist with any other duties as assigned by the Packaging Room Supervisor.
• Complies with all company policies, including food safety, workplace safety, quality assurance, sanitation, attendance, and harassment free workplace policies.
