Maintenance Technician – Food Production Facility
Pay: $39.05 per hour
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced food production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining processing and packaging equipment to ensure safe and efficient production operations. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in manufacturing or food processing environments, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Perform preventative maintenance including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements
  • Support production startups, line changeovers, and equipment setup adjustments
  • Accurately complete work orders, maintenance logs, and parts usage documentation within CMMS systems
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain safe work practices and follow all company food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to minimize downtime
Qualifications
Experience & Education
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in food processing, agriculture, or manufacturing environments
  • Vocational/trade school training preferred, or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience
Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of food processing and packaging equipment including:
    • Conveyors
    • Washers
    • Cutters
    • Dryers
    • Sorters
    • Baggers
    • Sealers
    • Case packers
  • Ability to diagnose and repair:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
  • Experience working with:
    • Motors
    • Gearboxes
    • Bearings
    • Belts
    • Chains
    • Pumps
    • Valves
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Mechanical drawings
    • Electrical schematics
    • Equipment manuals
    • SOPs
  • Basic understanding of PLC-controlled equipment, including recognizing alarms, sensors, and faults

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a production setting
