Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Education: High school diploma or GED required; Technical or Trade School certification preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or related industrial environment.
  3. Skills:
    • o   Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
    • o   Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, and automated equipment a plus.
    • o   Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
    • o   Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
    • o   Familiar with CMMS systems and maintenance reporting.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):
    • o   OSHA Safety Certification
    • o   Food Safety and GMP Training
    • o   Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Certification
  5. Physical Requirements:
    • o   Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures.
    • o   Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays if needed.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all production and packaging equipment within the food manufacturing facility. This role ensures maximum equipment efficiency, reliability, and safety while maintaining compliance with all food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, seals, bearings, and other machinery components.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow all safety protocols, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and address mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance of equipment.
  • Support facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and general repair as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, and food industry regulatory standards.
