Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits:
- $18-$22 per hour
- Monday- Friday 7AM-4PM
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in metal fabrication is a plus.
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years working in an industrial manufacturing or metal fabrication environment operating CNC machinery.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, proficiently use micrometer, proficiently use calipers, interpret and read shop drawings, and geometric tolerances.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long shifts and frequently lift or move materials weighing 35 to 50 pounds.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic shop math skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Job Description:
A laser machine operator sets up, runs, and monitors CNC laser cutting or engraving systems to shape metal plates or other materials. The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting parts for quality control, performing basic equipment maintenance, and strictly following industrial safety rules.
- Machine Operation: Load raw materials, pull program files, and operate CNC laser cutting tables or fabrication machinery.
- Setup & Adjustments: Adjust parameters like focal length, power, and speed based on material type and thickness.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished components using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions against blueprints.
- Material Handling: Move sheets and finished parts safely using manual lifting, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine pre/post-operation equipment checks, clear scrap or slag, troubleshoot minor malfunctions, and wear required PPE.
- Welding: MIG, TIG, and spot welding of stainless, aluminum and carbon
- Punching: CNC punching and shearing of angle and flat bars
- Forming: Press brake, pipe and tube bending
- Cutting: Laser, shear and band saw
