We are seeking experienced Industrial Maintenance & Line Technicians who possess strong mechanical, electrical, and automation skills to support our high-speed manufacturing and packaging operations.
This is a hands-on technical role responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and packaging equipment while ensuring maximum efficiency, minimal downtime, and compliance with FDA, cGMP, and safety standards.
This is not an operator-level position. Candidates must have proven technical experience working with fillers, labeling systems, automated packaging equipment, electrical controls, PLCs, and production line troubleshooting.
Hiring Process Notice
All candidates will be required to complete a hands-on skills assessment during the interview process. The assessment may include setup and adjustment of filling equipment, labelers, sensors, PLC-controlled machinery, and troubleshooting production equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain piston fillers, servo fillers, and volumetric filling equipment.
- Perform mechanical changeovers and equipment adjustments for labeling systems, conveyors, bottle unscramblers, cappers, cartoners, and case-packing equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, relays, VFDs, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of automated packaging lines.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with production teams to maximize equipment performance, uptime, and efficiency.
- Assist with product changeovers and startup activities while maintaining quality and production standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, downtime reports, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, reliability, and waste reduction.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, line technician, or manufacturing equipment experience in a high-speed production environment.
- Proven experience setting up and troubleshooting filling equipment, labeling systems, and automated packaging machinery.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including:
- 120V-480V electrical systems
- 3-phase motors
- Relays
- Contactors
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Ability to diagnose sensors, inputs/outputs, and equipment faults.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with:
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Gear drives
- Conveyor systems
- Packaging equipment
- Ability to perform rapid equipment changeovers with minimal downtime.
- Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cosmetics, personal care, OTC, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, or packaging manufacturing.
- Basic PLC or HMI programming experience.
- Experience managing or supporting preventive maintenance programs.
- Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience.
- Experience working in FDA-regulated or GMP manufacturing facilities.
