General warehouse duties include receiving, storing, and shipping products, with specific responsibilities like loading/unloading trucks, picking and packing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring products are properly documented and protected for transport. Associates may also be responsible for tasks such as maintaining a clean workspace, handling raw materials, and potentially assembling products.
Core duties and responsibilities
- Receiving: Accurately receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and properly store them in designated locations.
- Shipping: Pick, pack, and package orders for shipment, ensuring they are accurately documented and protected according to company and customer specifications.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and a clean, organized workspace to ensure smooth operations and reduce errors.
- Material Handling: Safely load and unload trucks with material and transfer products within the warehouse using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately fill customer orders by gathering the correct products, packaging them, and preparing them for delivery or customer pickup.
- Safety and Efficiency: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to make the workplace safer and more efficient.
- Quality Control: Inspect inventory for any damage or faults and communicate any issues to the proper channels.
- Labeling: Correctly label and mark stock with barcodes or other necessary information.
- Teamwork: Support other employees and be flexible to transition to other tasks or departments as needed.
Requirements: Candidates must have basic English communication skills and wear steel-toe boots while on the job.
