Job Title: Custodial Shipping & Receiving Support
Job Location: Grass Lake, MI
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $18-$20/hr
First Shift: 6am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday (Hours may vary; Weekends as needed)
Job Description: This role plays an important part in supporting both production and office environments by ensuring all areas remain sanitary, functional, and compliant with safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors in office and production areas
- Clean and disinfect walls, surfaces, restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas
- Empty trash and recycling, including proper handling of hazardous waste when required
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and buffers
- Degrease machinery and clean production equipment, including removal of debris and metal shavings
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or air filters
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials as needed
- Follow regulations and properly handle cleaning chemicals and PPE requirements
- Report safety hazards and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift 30–50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, and crouching as needed for cleaning tasks
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining cleanliness and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and PPE requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings
