Job Title: Construction Foreman
Job Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $17-$20 DOE
Job Description:
We are looking for a working foreman to lead a project in lake Charles. Below are duties and responsibilities:
Site Leadership & Production
• Lead and direct field crews on a single active commercial project
• Assign daily work, set production expectations, and manage crew manpower to meet budgeted labor hours
• Perform hands-on self-perform work alongside the crew — demolition, carpentry, framing, drywall, patching, painting, and general construction tasks
• Verify and approve daily crew time in the company project management system (Buildertrend)
• Track and report installed quantities and percent complete for progress billing
Schedule
• Execute the project schedule and maintain a rolling 2–3 week look-ahead
• Identify schedule constraints, delays, and long-lead items early and escalate to the Superintendent
• Sequence work and subcontractor work to keep the critical path moving
Quality Control
• Own onsite quality for all self-perform work
• Read and work from construction drawings, specifications, and approved submittals; verify installed work matches the approved product — not just the plan
• Coordinate mockups and first-article approvals on finishes before full production
• Pre-punch company’s own work before the owner/architect walk and drive the punch list to zero
Customer & Meetings
• Serve as company field point of contact for the customer, owner’s representative, and design team
• Attend and represent company at weekly customer progress meetings
• Communicate professionally and route all pricing, scope, and schedule commitments to the Project Manager or Superintendent — the Foreman does not commit contract changes in the field
Documentation
• Complete accurate daily logs: manpower counts (company and each subcontractor), weather, deliveries, work performed, delays, visitors, and photos
• Identify plan and spec conflicts and submit field RFIs through the Project Manager
• Maintain as-built markups on the field set
• Identify out-of-scope or extra work before it is performed and notify the office in writing
Subcontractor Coordination
• Coordinate subcontractor trades on site, verify daily manpower, and hold subs to the look-ahead schedule
• Inspect subcontractor work before it is covered or closed in
• Report subcontractor non-performance to the Superintendent same-day
Safety
• Enforce all OSHA, company, and owner safety requirements for company crews and subcontractors on site
• Conduct and document weekly toolbox talks and daily pre-task safety planning
• Enforce PPE compliance and jobsite housekeeping at all times
• Report incidents and near-misses immediately; complete site orientation for new crew members
Materials, Tools & Equipment
• Receive and verify material deliveries against purchase orders; report shortages or damage same day
• Manage material staging, protection, and laydown areas
• Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment, including rental on/off dates
Site Logistics & Closeout
• Manage owner-required site protocols: badging, background checks, occupied-facility procedures, infection/dust control barriers, after-hours and noise restrictions, parking, and waste removal
• Execute project closeout: final clean, attic stock, keys, warranty and O&M field information, and demobilization
