Requirements of position
 
Skills and Qualifications: 
  1. 1–3 years of related manufacturing or machining experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 
  2. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and procedures 
  3. Experience working with CNC machining operations (mills and lathes preferred) 
  4. Familiarity with production tracking systems and operational metrics 
  5. Ability to meet attendance requirements and maintain consistent work readiness
  6. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills 
  7. Excellent communication (verbal, written, and technical) 
  8. Solid organizational and time management abilities 
  9. Problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset 
  10. Ability to translate technical information into clear instructions 
  11. Performance management and employee development skills 
  12. Proficiency with production dashboards and reporting tools 
  13. Strong mathematical aptitude (fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.)
  14. Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings.
 
Responsibilities of position
 
Responsibilities: 
Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and support Supervisors, Leads, and Operators across shifts
  • Coordinate production priorities, scheduling, and changeovers
  • Serve as first point of escalation for production, staffing, quality, and safety issues
  • Remove operational barriers and troubleshoot machining/workflow problems
Machining & Equipment
  • Interpret blueprints and work orders
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes as needed
  • Oversee tooling, fixtures, preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and verify inspections
  • Conduct audits and maintain production/quality documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams
Team Development & Communication
  • Train, coach, and develop employees; support cross-training and certification
  • Ensure accurate reporting of production, attendance, and incidents
  • Communicate effectively across departments to maintain shift alignment
 
Overview: Responsible for leading production operations while directly supporting CNC programming, setup, and machining execution. This role ensures that production meets expectations for Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery by effectively utilizing people, equipment, and processes. The CNC Production Supervisor provides cross-shift leadership, drives continuous improvement, maintains equipment readiness, and develops team capability in a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
