Requirements of position
   


  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience operating a tractor with a 53’ trailer.
  • Strong backing skills in tight spaces (yard jockey / shuttle experience preferred).
  • Ability to safely hook and unhook trailers multiple times per shift.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Good verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous yard jockey / hostler / local shuttle driver experience.
  • Experience working in a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse dock operations.
 
Job Description          
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to operate a mechanical tractor with a 53’ trailer to transport cargo between our warehouse facilities. All warehouse locations are within a 0.5-mile radius, with occasional local runs to our manufacturing plant in Opa-Locka (approximately 20 minutes away). This role primarily functions as a yard jockey and does not require loading or unloading freight. Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate a tractor with a 53’ trailer to move cargo between warehouse locations safely and efficiently.
  2. Perform frequent trailer hook and unhook procedures.
  3. Back trailers into tight dock spaces and designated yard areas.
  4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
  5. Maintain accurate movement logs and follow all company and DOT safety regulations.
  6. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatch, and supervisors to coordinate trailer movements.
  7. Support occasional local shuttle runs to the Opa-Locka manufacturing facility.
  8. Ensure on-time and damage-free transport of goods between facilities.
