The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, productivity, facility maintenance, and financial management. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective operations while adhering to safety regulations and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations & Financial Management:
- Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure adequate staffing for shipping, receiving, and other activities.
- Direct daily operations, including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Generate productivity reports and manage labor hours to meet budget requirements and achieve warehouse goals.
- Use financial reports to manage cash flow, improve transportation yield, and control expenses for all warehouse related activities (general expenses and job related).
- Focus on driving profitable growth by increasing revenue and improving operational efficiency of warehousing activities.
- Inventory & Equipment Management:
- Oversee warehouse scratch rates, out-of-stock issues, receiving errors, selection errors, and slotting of products.
- Maintain warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance and necessary repairs, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain warehouse safety programs in compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment for employees.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead Your Team: Recruit, hire, train, and manage direct reports, providing regular performance feedback.
- Foster a motivated and customer-focused team to achieve high levels of satisfaction and efficiency.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and service delivery.
- Maintain effective communication via phone, email, and web conferencing to coordinate activities and initiatives.
- Metrics & Performance Monitoring:
- Develop relevant metrics to measure department performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Use data-driven approaches to optimize processes and achieve operational goals.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Train new employees on warehouse systems and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and organizational goals.
