Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of transportation-focused warehouse operations within a dynamic 3PL logistics environment. This role is essential in managing the efficient flow of goods across Sea & Air import/export channels, ensuring compliance, speed, and service excellence.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience in international freight logistics, bonded and non-bonded operations, and hands-on knowledge of coordinating end-to-end transportation workflows across ocean, air, and last-mile delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation & Freight Coordination
- Oversee the full cycle of import/export transportation operations, including container unloading, air pallet breakdown/build, cross-docking, and dispatch.
- Manage coordination of ocean containers (FCL/LCL), air freight shipments, and inland transportation (LTL, FTL, drayage).
- Schedule and supervise inbound and outbound freight movements in alignment with flight and vessel arrival schedules.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and transportation providers.
Warehouse Management
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, put away, inventory control, order picking, packing, staging, and outbound shipping.
- Ensure accurate cargo handling, labeling, and WMS/TMS data entry.
- Maintain facility layout for optimal cargo flow and transportation access.
Import/Export Compliance
- Ensure warehouse operations meet compliance standards for Customs & Border Protection (CBP), TSA, IATA, IMO, and DOT.
- Support document accuracy for airway bills, bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Maintain standards for bonded warehouse or Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), if applicable.
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage and develop a high-performance team of warehouse associates, forklift drivers, transportation coordinators, and supervisors.
- Align labor resources with transportation schedules to ensure timely cargo movement.
- Enforce safety procedures, conduct training, and manage performance reviews.
Client Support & 3PL Services
- Act as the operational point-of-contact for domestic and international 3PL clients.
- Ensure KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs) are met, with proactive communication on delays, exceptions, and performance.
- Provide daily and weekly reports on transportation flow, warehouse activity, and client-specific metrics.
Technology & Process Optimization
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to ensure visibility and efficiency (e.g., Cargo Wise, SAP, Descartes).
- Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce freight dwell time, improve dock turn rates, and streamline pick/pack/ship processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of warehouse operations and transportation experience in a 3PL or freight forwarding environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Sea & Air freight, including import/export documentation, customs procedures, and cargo handling standards.
- Familiarity with TSA, IATA, FMC, CBP, DOT, and other regulatory bodies.
- Proficient in WMS/TMS platforms and logistics data analysis.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IATA, Hazmat, CTPAT, OSHA) are a plus.
- Must be bilingual.
